It got its name from the nickname of the first resident Vasyuk Sychev. At the beginning of the XX century the village was large. It counted 16 farmsteads. A part of ancient houses has been preserved till now. The houses of Abramovs and Poslovs stand out for their architecture and preservation state of the interiors. They were built in the early XX century. At the beginning of the XX c. one of 12 windmills of the region was located in this village.
